This 1940s runner rug was hand-woven in Morocco. The wool is dyed in a rich palette of pink, yellow, orange, red, warm beige, and black. One end is constructed in a flat weave arranged in stripes varying in color and culminates in a fringed edge. The other end is a thicker weave with a band consisting of repeating geometric motifs. At the center, set against a pink field is a diamond-shaped medallion surrounded by stylized floral and geometric figures.
Overall the rug is in very good condition with beautiful fading, and wear that is consistent with the rug's age and use.
