This Caucasian rug was hand-woven some time between 1900-1925. Its abrash and rich earth-toned palette includes ivory, red, brown, blue, and gold. The design places medallions in a central column that is surrounded by a brown field. Geometric elements and animal figures densely flank the medallions. In turn, a border, patterned with stylized flowers and branches, frames the entire composition.
This rug has age-appropriate wear, which is part of its beautiful texture and palette. It is newly cleaned and is in very good condition.
