This Agra rug was handwoven in the Early 20th Century. It is remarkable for its rich hues of purples mixed with complementary yellows. The design consists of a large rectangle containing several columns of Herati pattern. This rectangle, in turn, is framed by several borders. This is an exceptional rug that will enrich an interior with its color & the movement of its pattern.
The rug is in very good condition. Part of its value and appeal is the way it has aged and accrued wear. There are patches at some edges, as shown in the images, that have been added to mend minor tears. Overall the rug is in excellent shape.
