This compelling painting by Donald Buley is dated circa 1960. Buley's "The Studio" teeters towards abstraction. He depicts an interior through a series of mostly vertical brushstrokes out of which glimpses of recognizable objects emerge. At the right an upright figure (perhaps the artist himself) is barely legible, obscured by patches of grays.
The painting is handsomely framed. Information regarding its provenance appears on the verso.
