This untitled abstract abstract composition is by the late Mary Gardner (1920-1997). The medium is oil paint on canvas. Gardner's creativity manifested across media. In addition to painting, she worked with sculpture, furniture, and textile. She was also a model. Regarding her painting process, she said, "Every painting I do begins with a dream." As in another painting in our collection, this catalyst is apparent in this vertically oriented composition, with its bold forms evoking the elemental and perhaps a subconscious, forceful occurrence.
This painting is presented in a gilt wood frame.
